Even with all of the precautions the Board took, Base Camp facilities have suffered damages by the recent freezing temperatures. The bathrooms will remain closed until repairs can be completed
With warmer temperatures and sunshine we are seeing improved roads across our area. The trash operator has implemented the plan for limited roll-off and commercial service at critical locations. While primary and secondary roads have improved the operator is experiencing some issues with slippery surfaces at multi-family complexes and commercial areas. Road conditions this morning remain poor but the trash operator anticipates some melting of ice and snow with warmer temperatures forecasted tomorrow and through the weekend. This will allow them to safely recover the heavier volume of garbage and recycling that is expected next week. The operator remains on track with the plan they set yesterday. With the additional snowfall last night and ongoing subfreezing temperatures trash service will not be operating again tomorrow, February 18th, due to expected dangerous road conditions. Due to the ongoing dangerous weather and road conditions trash service will not be operating again tomorrow, Wednesday Feb 17th. With the forecasted additional snow tomorrow it is likely that service trucks will not be able to provide service until next week. After surveying the area and considering the ongoing historically low forecasted temperatures, it appears that the roads will remain hazardous for the trash service trucks to operate on Tuesday, 2/16/2021.
